California’s NEM 3 possible harmful outcome

California’s NEM 3.0, at its core, is an anti-solar industry proposal, with it being an attempt to make solar less optimal and incentivized compared to other forms of power, despite utility companies failing its customers in the last two decades. Here are some of the proposals from NEM 3.0 and how it can impact you as a customer:

1) Reduction in the credit paid for excess solar energy down to the utility’s avoided cost during every hour of the day on a monthly basis, as well as a new monthly grid participation charge equal to $8 (per kW).
